Polaris World 5* Resort

Hola!

Welcome to the Condado de Alhama, Polaris Worlds latest and possibly greatest Spanish golf holiday resort based in the Murcia region of Spain.

The Condado de Alhama golf resort is a new development and it is planned to be a self contained 'town' consisting of 24 hour security, banks, specialised shops, supermarkets, hairdressers, launderettes, pharmacies, restaurants, bars, cinemas, creche and spas.

The focus at present is 'Al Kazar'.

'Al Kazar',  the town centre, has an Arabian inspired design with many Palm trees and a central pool area adding to the tranquil ambience. This looks particularly spectacular at night with the illuminated pool and up lighted palm trees.
Al Kazar, is home to;
The Clover Bar, an Irish themed pub which has a well stocked and varied bar. There is a luxurious seating area outside where one can languish in the evening sun with a long cool drink.
The Italian Restaurant, where traditional Italian meals are freshly prepared.
The well stocked supermarket, which supplies fresh baked bread and fresh vegetables along with a large choice of beers, wines and spirits, newspapers, souvenirs, etc.
The Pro shop where ‘all things golf’ and green fees can be purchased.
Polaris World office, where some remaining apartments can be purchased should you wish to join the community.

Sports

The 18 hole signature golf course is now well established and gaining a reputation for its challenging terrain.
The sports area, which is adjacent to Jardine 6, has 6 paddle tennis courts, 2 tennis courts and 3 squash courts.
There are 3 football pitches adjacent to Al Kazar. Bicycles are available for hire adjacent to the supermarket.

Polaris World is one of Spain's largest and ambitious developers. There are 6 more of their golf resorts, all within a 30 minute drive. So the avid golfer could play a different course every day!

And don't forget, the course has been designed by the legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus.

Out and About

The region of Murcia has the typical Mediterranean semi-arid subtropical climate and can boast at least 300 sunny days throughout the year. The average annual temperature is 18ºC. Summer temperatures can reach 40ºC and the winter average 8ºC

The historic capital city of the region, Murcia, about 40km away, is rich in culture and well worth a visit. It is well known for the 'Cathedral de Santa Maria'.

The Sierra de Espuna National Park is situated about 20kms to the west, and is host to lots of outdoor activities including walking, mountain biking, rock climbing and horse riding.

The Costa Cálida (Warm Coast) has over 150 miles of beaches so the Med is not far away. The port of Mazarron is just over 20 minutes down the newly constructed RM3 motorway. Here there are several small beaches and a pretty harbour.

Further along the coast is the ancient walled port of Cartagena, steeped in character and famous for it's naval history. Check out the bronze statue on the waterfront!

Over to the east is the Mar Menor, an extremely large salt lake which at it's deepest is only 7m and on average 5ºC warmer than the Med! Between it and the Mediterranean sea is La Manga strip, a thin strip of land which is now home to many hotels. Here there are over 40km of sandy beaches. In places there are only a few metres between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, literally a walk over the road!

Car hire is very reasonable, one of the cheapest I found was Doyouspain. You can book online and don't have to pay until you arrive, the choice is yours.
